Three Stages
Folsom Lake College Theater

The Three Stages at Folsom Late College had a public tour on January 10. I went with my trusty camera and my treacherous flash - I'm still mastering
the art of using a flash. I did things today that I know better than, but I didn't have much opportunity to take the flash off the camera, etc.
But I digress...

There are three separate theaters, plus a couple of smaller rooms that are meant for other purposes, and a full on recording studio. It's a really
cool place. You can get more info from them here. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, though it would be a blast, I think.
I was a theater kid up through high school and sometimes I kinda miss it. This was a fun trip.

The Lobby	Stage 1

The main lobby, right inside the door or so. It is really nice in there.	One of the doors to Stage 1, the big one. It's something like 850 or 900 seats on two levels. And none of them are bad.

Inside Stage 1

The stage from about the middle left of the house.	This is some of the lighting and the ceiling from the same spot.

Stage 1 Balcony

This is the stage from the balcony. I didn't use the flash this time, I used the rail to brace the camera and just took a longer exposure.	This is the main floor from the balcony, same rail trick instead of flash.

Back Stage

This is one side of backstage from the stage.	This is the other side. These are pullys used on the curtains and anything else suspended from the ceiling.

The Black Box	The Green Room

This is a room that is the same size as the main stage itself. They use it for rehersals, as well as meetings and anything else it's needed for.	The green room was not as big as I expected it to be. There were around 17 of us on the tour, and we about filled it up. It'd never hold all the flying monkeys needed for The Wizard Of Oz. I dind't get any shots in it, we weren't there very long.

Stage 2

Stage 2 is smaller, and more homey. Smaller productions go on in there.	Behind that wall is the set building room. The whole place is laid out pretty well.

Stage 3

Kind of a copy of the big stage, but much smaller. This is where they tend to do musical recitals.	There was a piano on stage during the tour. Nobody offered to play.

The Recording Studio

This is the largest recording studio of its kind in the Sacramento Area, so I understand. Its walls are not finished on purpose, cuz they figured they'd get banged up a lot, what with moving instruments around and such.	The curtains are for sound dampening, and can be opened. Nothing's behind them but wall.

This is from upstairs. On the right are the doors for the balcony of Stage 1.	The Mezzanine, on the other end of the upstairs lobby. Below it is the snack bar, which was not open toady.
